In recent years the timber industry has faced various challenges, including the impacts of Covid-19, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and significant cost escalation. These factors have added pressure to an industry that has always strived to find a balance between serving customers and suppliers to offer the right products at the right prices.

While Silva Timber was a direct competitor of Specialised Panel Products, it is always a sad day when a company enters administration. We know many skilled members of the timber trade are now looking for new roles and we hope that they swiftly find new employment opportunities as their industry knowledge will be missed.

The closure of Silva Timber not only affects its own team but also sends ripples through the supply chain and customer markets. As a business we are already working with several modular and construction companies to help fill product requirements left by the closing of Silva Timber. We're committed to continuing this support, with our high-quality products and our experience within the timber trade to assist customers with both ongoing and upcoming projects.

Furthermore, we are also working closely with supply chain to give the UK market access to some of the more specialist supplied products such as Neolife composite and coated wood products.

For many years Specialised Panel Products has been a market leader in fire retardant wood products providing advice and products to a wide range of companies. We’re now expanding our market offer to cover products previously supplied by Silva Timber such as Thermo Pine, Cedar and Larch.
